The Dog Stylist is an apprenticeship program design to build grooming experience and confidence prior to embarking on a rewarding dog grooming career. The Dog Stylist program is highly selective and only Dog Groomers exhibiting the highest degree of dog care, skill and commitment will be permitted to join the program. In this apprenticeship program, students will independently groom various breeds over a period of 5 full weeks (minimum 150 hours) under instructor supervision. LKN Grooming Academy will endeavor to assign as many different breeds and breed groups as become available during the apprenticeship period to build a wealth of knowledge and experience that will prepare the student for a challenging salon environment. Students will be expected to participate fully in the grooming process for each dog they groom during the apprenticeship period, from check-in and customer consultation through bathing, pre-work, de-shedding, de-matting and grooming to customer specifications and breed standards. The Dog Stylist will need to successfully complete the Dog Groomer course of study before being eligible to enroll and/or demonstrate ample experience to be considered for this program.
